A local Roman Catholic priest was indicted Wednesday on one misdemeanor count of sexual imposition for an incident that led to his resignation.

Rev. Frank Murd was the pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Maumee before resigning Apr. 11.   Murd, 65, had been pastor of the church since July 2003.

The charge against Father Murd was made by a Lucas County grand jury and stems from an alleged incident that occured March 18 in a hot tub at the JCC Sylvania.

Sylvania Township policehad been investigating the accusation against Father Murd before his resignation.

Bishop Leonard Blair mailed a letter to St. Joseph's parishoners on Apr. 10 stating the Father Murd had informed his office earlier that week that he was under investigation for an accusation involving an incident of improper sexual conduct with an adult.
