TOLEDO -- Toledo city council members George Sarantou and Tom Waniewski both told WNWO today they will not run for mayor this year. Waniewski who represents District 5 is looking ahead to running for re-election to his council seat in 2015. "I like what I am doing, working with my constituents," Mr. Waniewski said. Councilman Sarantou cannot run for re-election because of term limits and has ruled out a challenge to Mayor Bell. "At this point I don't forsee that; I will be a private citizen next year," Mr. Sarantou said.
Attorney Keith Wilkowski, who lost to Bell on Election Day in 2009, also told WNWO that he will not run for mayor in 2013.
