A Michigan Supreme Court Justice has been charged with fraud.
Federal prosecutors handed down the charge Friday for Judge Diane Hathaway over alleged fraudulent real estate dealings.
She and her husband are accused of trying to conceal a home in Florida in order to get a short sale on another home in Michigan.
The charge was filed as a criminal "information" which means a guilty plea is expected in federal court. It comes just days before the 58-year-old Hathaway is set to retire from the state's highest court.
Hathaway has refused any lengthy public comments about the case.
