Not every race shared the same neck-to-neck pace of the presidential race on election night--Several northwest Ohio incumbents enjoyed comfortable leads over their challengers as the results began rolling out.

Ohio had one of the most hotly contested and expensive U.S. Senate campaigns, but Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown retained his seat with a 50.34 percent lead over the 45.09 percent for Republican challenger Josh Mandel.

Democratic incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur also took Ohio's 9th Congressional District race with a 72.61 percent lead over Republican Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher.

In Ohio's 5th Congressional District, Republican incumbent Rep. Bob Latta kept his seat on Capitol Hill with a 57.30-39.23 percent lead over Democratic challenger Angela Zimmann.

In Lucas County, Democratic incumbent commissioners Pete Gerken and Tina Skeldon Wozniak were overwhelmingly re-elected by more than 60 percent in both races.

Other incumbents re-elected include Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz and Wood County commissioners Jim Carter and Joel Kuhlman.
