TOLEDO -- Democratic incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur won election to a 16th term in the United States House of Representatives.  With 92 percent of the vote counted by early Wednesday morning, Rep. Kaptur had amassed 199,048 votes, or 72 percent of the ballots cast.  Her Republican opponent, Samuel Wurzelbacher, garnered 65,253 votes, or 24 percent. The Libertarian candidate, Sean Stipe, captured 10,776 votes, or 4 percent.

Rep. Kaptur spoke at the Teamsters Union Hall in South Toledo, which served as the Democratic Party's election night headquarters.

"My priority is always jobs and economic growth, continuing the recovery of the automotive industry and working hard on energy independence," she said.

After the 2010 census, Rep. Kaptur's 9th Congressional district was redrawn. Her new district stretches from Toledo to Cleveland.
