Ottawa County voters should double check the calendar before heading out to the polls on Election Day.
The Ottawa County Board of Elections has sent official postcards to about 2,200 voters with Election Day listed as Nov. 8, instead of the actual date of Nov. 6. The board is working to remedy the error by sending out new postcards.
Deputy Director Carol Ann Hill said the cards were sent to about 7 percent of the county's 30,000 registered voters.
In addition to the wrong date being listed, the original cards also listed an incorrect polling place.
In the last presidential election, in 2008, Ottawa County voted 52% in favor of Barack Obama. The president-elect beat Republican John McCain in the county by 1,440 votes.
On Sunday, Ottawa County native and American Idol winner, Crystal Bowersox, made a stop back home to campaign for Pres. Obama. Bowersox has been making stops at different campaign offices in the area for "Women Decide 2012," an initiative to get women out to the polls on election day.
