Toledo area man dies at Kings Island

The Kings Island amusement park has reopened a roller coaster that was voluntarily shut down following a man’s death after riding it.  Homer Shields III, of Toledo died after riding the coaster on Saturday. 

No information has been released as to what caused the 38-year old's death.  Ride operators noticed the man was having trouble breathing just after the coaster came to stop.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture inspected the Firehawk roller coaster and determined the ride was operating according to the manufacture’s specifications.  An investigation by the department is ongoing.  King’s Island is located in Mason, OH.
