TOLEDO, OHIO -- One Toledo teen has all her ducks in a row. And she has her seal of approval to prove it.
16-year old Lily Spang has at least two loves in her life, ducks and artwork. So she decided to combine them both to create a canvass of love of sorts for all to see.
And the result of her passion is a duck stamp. It's the winner of "Best in Show" in the Buckeye State. And it has taken top prize at the national level with a value of $5 thousand. But for Lily, it's not about the money. It's more about respect for nature. Of course there's a purpose to all of this, beside pretty paints. It's a way to teach conservation, and a way for kids to learn early.
Her $5 commemorative stamp goes on sale this Friday. You can buy them at the Bass Pro shops in Rossford and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge near Oak Harbor. By the way, she's selling 150 prints at $50 bucks each. Go to her website, www.lilyspang.com, if you want to purchase one.
