(Toledo)--Smart Binz Corporation of Toledo is ready to clean up our act and get us moving in the right direction as far as beautifying and preserving the earth. And it's all with the help of a trash can.
The product is only 28 inches by 28 inches. It lights up, even displays artwork or advertising. And this bin, still in development, could very well showcase the eco-movement. And in some pretty high places, such as the White House itself.
this recycling receptacle is actually made from 90% recycled plastic material. Inside, it's divided into two compartments. One to hold paper and the other plastic and metal. There's also a solar module at the top to help brighten the unit at night. 48 LED lights are a part of this too.
The hope is, once the collector is ready for market this month, the unit will be distributed to colleges, hospitals, and municipalities throughout the area. In fact, five to ten thousand are expected to be sold in the first year.
Smart Binz already has a contract with TARTA to put the receptacles around the bus terminals. However, the company still has to come up with funding, mainly through corporations or government grants.
Each receptacle costs around $650 to 685 dollars. If you're interested in buying a Smart Binz or just learning more about the special trash can, log onto www.smartbinz.net or call 419-536-9457.
