(Sandusky, OH)--Sandusky, Ohio is the mecca of summer fun with amusement rides and waterparks. And now, one resort in town has some new bragging rights and a "green" stamp of approval to boot.
Great Wolf Lodge just received the "Green Seal Certification." In fact, all twelve hotels in the Great Wolf Lodge chain now have this recognition. The first of its kind to earn the distinction. This nod creates a science-based standard, including nearly three dozen environmentally responsible criteria for every lodging property.
The company has already noticed some of the cost savings from the changes made. At the Poconos location in Pennsylvania, there has been a saving of nearly nine million gallons of water in one year by using low-flow plumbing fixtures.
Great Wolf has also gotten high tech with "Project Green Wolf." There's a website enabling the resorts' younger guests to be eco-involved by becoming interactive online. The site is www.projectgreenwolf.com. You can also go to www.greatwolf.com/sandusky/waterpark for overall information about the resort itself.
