Save the Rainforest

(Toledo)-- Recently a new downtown nightclub called Avalon (formerly Liquid Ultra Lounge) was transformed into a rainforest to provide food and fun and help save the rainforest.

The event was put on by Focus on Young People, FYP, in hopes of saving the rainforest. There was a $5.00 cover charge.

All proceeds will benefit "Kids Saving the Rainforest" and "Merazonia Animal Refuge" in hopes of giving children in the Amazon trees to plant and rescue wildlife.

The evening was filled with cocktails, dancing, South American themed appetizers and live music. Empire Drift performed all evening.

At the event you could purchase Andira Rain Tees. The t-shirts are printed with art drawn by children living in endangered rainforests in the Central and South American regions. For every t-shirt sold, one tree will be given to a child involved in the 'Kids Saving the Rainforest' program to plant in an area of rainforest that has been destroyed.

T-shirts can now be purchased at Red Envy located at Cricket West.  That's at Central and Secor in west Toledo.  The shirts run between $25 and $35.  The attached link to Andira Tees can help you with ordering one as well.
