A state appeals court is upholding a Toledo priest's conviction for the 1980 murder of a nun.

The court in Toledo issued a 95-page decision Friday, rejecting the claims of defense attorneys that Rev. Gerald Robinson did not get a fair trial because his arrest came so long after the killing.

Robinson was taken into custody in 2004. Two years later, he was convicted in the death of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl.

The court says Robinson did not suffer any prejudice because of the delay. His attorneys had complained that potential evidence was lost and potential witnesses died over the years, but the court says other evidence of his guilt was very strong.

Defense lawyer Richard Kerger said Friday the ruling will be appealed to the Ohio Supreme Court.
