If you’re still receiving paper social security checks, the clock is ticking—March 1 is the last day for recipients to switch to an electronic payment method, as required by law.

Electronic options include direct deposit of benefits into a bank account or loaded onto a direct express debit card, according to the Social Security Administration.

To make the switch, visit www.godirect.org. Or, if you prefer the direct deposit route, visit your bank or credit union to sign up.

Not everyone is required to switch under the law--Seniors born on or before May 1, 1921 can still opt to receive a paper check.
