Sunshine to soaking rains too...

The scattered snow showers move east this morning... off to join and aid in the historic blizzard that will paralyze New England.  High pressure begins to build in by midday and with it deliver some wind and a slightly cooler airmass.  This afternoon skies will gradually begin to clear and we will see some sunshine begin to break out.  Temperatures will stay steady, in the upper 20's most of the afternoon, but we will see winds build and gust from the northwest to 30 mph at times - so the windchills will be dropping into the teens most of the afternoon and in spite of sunshine the afternoon will be a raw one indeed.

Overnight skies will be partly cloudy and it will get cold as lows dip below seasonal norms, down into the mid teens.  The cold start Saturday morning won't improve a whole lot during the day in spite of nearly full sunshine (our air motion should be sinking and scourinig away any clouds due to the NE Blizzard believe it or not - we call that subsidence meteorologically) as highs will max our in the mid & upper 20's.

I'm looking for mainly clear skies through Sunday at daybreak and partly cloudy skies during the morning hours. We will begin to cloud up fairly rapidly toward midday and become mostly cloudy for the afternoon.  The tradeoff will be milder highs getting close to 40 degrees.

Widespread, soaking rain moves in Sunday night and will continue into Monday for a soggy start to the work week.

Have a great weekend and say some prayers for our friends to the east who are about to get burried.
