FREMONT -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports a pickup truck failed to yield at an intersection on S.R. 412 when it crashed into a school bus with children on board Thursday morning.

Around 8:24 a.m., the pickup was traveling northbound on County Road 198 when it hit the school bus at the intersection of S.R. 412. Troopers said the bus had the right of way.

The bus had nine students on board and all were transported to Fremont Memorial Hospital for observation, according to the news release. The bus driver, 59-year-old David Tucker, was properly restrained and not injured.

The pickup driver, 33-year-old Daniel Ohmns of Fremont, and his son, who was riding in the passenger seat, were both restrained and not injured during the crash. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage, according to the patrol.
