TOLEDO -- The University of Toledo has begun a multi-year process of rebranding and remodeling its Honors College.

The Jesup Scott Honors College will be named after the former blade editor, who founded the University of Toledo in 1872. The reconfigured program will help realize UT Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Scott Scarborough’s vision for the university over the next several years.

“It is our goal, over the next several years, to transform the experience of our best prepared students to one that would rival the likes of Oberlin College and Miami University, without the cost,” said Scarborough.

We’re “Re-designing the experiential learning component for highly motivated, highly engaged students,” said Lakeesha Ransom, Dean of the Jesup Scott Honor’s College. She said the program will build on their research tradition by “Allowing undergraduate students, and inviting undergraduate students to do research.”

The program will share building space between Libbey Hall, Sullivan Hall, and a redesigned MacKinnon Hall.
