Findlay-based Cooper Tire has snagged its first passenger-tire contract with a U.S. automaker.
The company will provide tires for the 2013 Ford Focus SE and Titanium models.
This is the first time Cooper Tire will be standard original equipment on a vehicle. Until now, the tire maker has focused primarily on the replacement tire business.
The company says the Ford deal was a strategic decision to boost the bottom line.
