PERRYSBURG -- Make-A-Wish held its 3rd annual BIG Wish Gala on February 7th, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons in Perrysburg.

The event featured cocktails and a gourmet dinner as well as stories from Wish Children. Honorary Wish Child, Connor Bell, and his family of Maumee, shared their wish experience with guests. Eight-year-old Connor is battling bone cancer and had his wish granted to go to Walt Disney World Resort.

Emily Denholm, Marketing Communications Coordinator, commented about the gala, saying, "we hold it every year and it helps raise money for Make-A-Wish, to help grant wishes to children in Northwest Ohio."

The BIG Wish Gala was also to celebrate 30 years of granting wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions.

Guests could help make the wishes of local children like Connor come true, by raising the paddle to pledge a cash donation or bidding on a wide variety of live and silent auction packages.

Last year, Make-A-Wish granted 65 wishes to children in Northwest Ohio.
