Saturday mild, Sunday - Brrrrr.....
Not a bad kick-off to the weekend today as we'll see partly sunny skies with highs in the low and mid 30's.
The weekend will offer a wild ride and a nasty finish. We start out with some powerful winds building overnight and ushering in some mild temps for Saturday. We'll see plenty of sunshine Saturday morning, with increasing clouds by mid-afternoon. Winds will howl by mid-day and gust up to 35 MPH during the afternoon as highs climb into the mid 40's.
Shortly after midnight and into early Sunday morning the Arctic cold front that we've been talking about all week arrives with a venegence. Winds will be gusting to 40 MPH by daybreak Sunday morning and the mercury will begin to fall - through the twenties and into the teens by evening. Windchills will fall into the single digits. In addition to the cold we will likely see enough snow showers to blanket the ground in many places.
The first half of next week will offer dangerous cold and bitter windchills. Frostbite will be a concern through Wednesday with single digit feels-like temps even during the afternoons! Actual highs will be in the teens Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with overnight lows in the single digits.
Sunday night we may want to begin keeping those cabinet doors that lead to pipes against exterior walls open to prevent them from freezing. You're also not going to want to leave Rover of Kitty outside for very long.
Have a terrific weekend and get ready for the Deep Freeze!
