Cedar Point has started construction on the first hill of what will be the longest, tallest winged roller coaster in the world: GateKeeper.

Officials say workers have placed two of the four pieces of track that form the 170 foot lift hill and expect to top off the hill by the end of the week.

Riders will drop 164 feet on the 2 minute and 40 second steel coaster. The seats hang off the sides of the main track, giving passengers the feeling of being strapped onto the wings of an airplane.

GateKeeper will make its debut in May of 2013.
