SYLVANIA -- It is the final weekend before Election Day and Northwest Ohio welcomed another big political figure.

Saturday, U.S. Senator John Kerry, Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist, and retired U.S. Army General and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Wes Clark hosted a canvass kickoff in Sylvania to get out the vote for President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

The kickoff began at the OFA-OH Sylvania Office at 5834 Monroe Street.

During the kickoff, Senator Kerry talked about the importance of the election.

Senator Kerry said, “This is a critical moment on everything. On the right of women to make choices for themselves, the right of our kids to get the education they need and the chance to go on to higher education and to compete as a nation. On our values that we will promote in the world. All of these things are at stake in this race.”

Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife will make a visit in Fremont.
