Driver dead after car crashes in Lucas County

SWANTON TOWNSHIP -- Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car crash in Lucas County.

The accident happened on Monclova Road east of Wilkins Road in Swanton Township at 2:50 Saturday morning.

State patrol tells us a man was driving on Monclova Road, then went off the right side of the road, struck a tree, then utility pole. Afterwards the car caught fire. the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still investigating to see if alcohol was involved.
