With new casinos opening around the state more and more Ohioans are having to deal with gambling addictions, a new survey reveals.

The phone poll of 3,600 residents by the Ohio for Responsible Gambling, a state government initiative, finds around 3 percent of Ohio adults are either problem gamblers or at risk of gambling problems. Meanwhile, 6 percent of Ohioans who gamble say their primary venue now is casinos.

The poll was conducted to give lawmakers an idea of baseline idea of Ohioans' attitudes and behaviors toward gaming establishments before legalized casino gaming is fully up and running.
