SYLVANIA -- The Tumaini Medical Mission is hosting a vintage rock ‘n’ roll concert and classic car show Sunday to help residents in Tanzania get basic health screenings.

The group, which is organized by three Lutheran churches in Northwest Ohio, is sending doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and other medical professionals.

“We’re hoping to touch the lives of 6,000 to 8, 000 people,” said Pastor Steve Bauerle of Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville. “20 people including about 10 doctors and congregation members are taking the trip to help women and children with their health,” he said.

The event will take place at Centennial Terrace on 5773 Centennial Rd. Tickets are $20 at the door for adults and $5 for children under 14.

Phil Dirt and the Dozers will also be performing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visit www.zionwaterville.com or call 419-944-4177 to purchase tickets.
