TOLEDO -- If you are in need of school supplies for your children, the Salvation Army wants to help.

Starting this morning from 9 AM to 11 AM and again tomorrow from 1 PM to 3 PM, it will be accepting applications for backpacks and school supplies assistance.
Parents or guardians can go to the Downtown Toledo Salvation Army location on North Erie and Cherry streets to sign up.

To get qualified, you will need to bring a photo ID, Social Security cards for everyone in the household, proof of address, proof of income, and either a birth certificate or proof of custody for each child.

The Salvation Army hopes by providing basic school supplies to children who may otherwise go without, it
will allow them to begin the school year with the supplies needed for academic success.
