Brooke Dutridge suffers from a neurological disorder that causes chronic pain.

Imagine living in a world where every move, every moment, you are consumed by pain.
Sylvania Southview High School student Brooke Dutridge twisted her ankle going down the stairs and never recovered. Her neurovascular system reacted negatively to the injury and she developed Full Body Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy (RND/RSD), a disease that causes severe chronic pain.
But despite her condition, Brooke's family says she is always smiling and doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for her. She just wants to be a normal high school student, and with the highlight of her senior year fast approaching, her friends and family hope to make prom the night of her life with a special date: American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.
"It's not because he's a celebrity or anything," Brooke said. "What I notice about him is he seems really down to Earth and he seems like a really sweet guy. He doesn't seem like most guys that you especially find around here."
Southview High's prom is May 5. Brooke hopes people will join her Facebook event and share the video above with friends and family, as well as tweet @ScottyMcCreery to get his attention before the big day.
"Really with this whole thing... I don't know, it's just keep positive because negative just brings you down," she said.
