TOLEDO -- Lucas County's dog pound will begin putting pit bulls directly up for adoption once the Governor signs a bill removing a reference to the dogs as vicious.

The so-called pit bill is sitting on Governor's Kasich's desk waiting for his signature.

The measure changes current law which labels all pit bulls as vicious, regardless if they have attacked someone or not.

Dog Warden Julie Lyle says the county will begin adopting out pit bulls with-in 90 days of when the bill is signed.

Right now the pound transfers them to the Toledo Area Humane Society and other groups, but does not put them up for adoption directly.

Would you adopt a pit bull from the dog pound?  What's your favorite breed?  Post your comments below.
