Pit Bulls closer to losing vicious dog tag

COLUMBUS -- Pit bull owners in Ohio are now just one signature away from no longer having their dogs considered vicious without cause.
Wednesday, the Ohio House passed a bill that removes pit bulls from the definition of "vicious dog" from a state law that has been in effect since 1987.
Until now, Ohio was the only state with a breed specific law. Under the new law, dogs of all breeds, including pit bulls will still be considered vicious if they, without provocation, have killed or caused serious injury to any person.
House Bill 14 now goes to the Governor for his signature.
