According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, police are investigating a murder at a home on Meadow Drive in Frenchtown Township.

Just before noon on Wednesday, Sheriff Deputies responded to the home after receiving a call from a man requesting a "medical response".

When authorities arrived at the scene they found 64-year-old Nancy Lake of Monroe had been strangled.

Officials say Lake was the suspect's caregiver and had been arguing over living conditions when their confrontation turned physical.

The suspect is being held at the Monroe County Jail on an "open murder" charge, but the suspect's name is being withheld until he has been arraigned.
