TOLEDO -- Toledo Police have charged a local teen in a double shooting, earlier this month that injured a mother and her young son.

Investigators say 18-year-old Deangelo Overton was already in police custody when they questioned him about his involvement in the shooting at a Byrneport Drive home on November 4th.

During their interrogation, authorities say, Overton admitted to shooting 34-year-old Sandra Felder and 4-year-old Jashon Veasley.

Overton said, however, that the shots were not intended for the victims but were fired at another individual in a "robbery that went bad".

Felder and Veasley have both since been treated and released from the hospital but are still recovering from their injuries.

Overton was initially arrested after being identified in surveillance video allegedly showing him, and another man, attempting to use credit cards stolen during a separate home invasion.

In the shooting, Overton has been charged with 2 counts of felonious assault and improperly discharging a firearm.
