TIFFIN -- The battle to preserve the Seneca County Courthouse is getting some support from the top lawmaker in Ohio.

Governor John Kasich sent a letter to county commissioners urging them to hold off on tearing down the courthouse in Tiffin.

The letter called the 1884 bulding a part of Ohio's shared heritage and should be given a new life.

But commissioners say Kasich's letter has not changed their mind and they plan to go ahead with taking bids to demolish it.
