TOLEDO -- An Ohio panel has given the green light for $10 million in job creation tax credits for Chrysler's proposed expansion and upgrade of the Toledo North Assembly Plant.

Now this doesn't mean that Chrysler will expand the factory.  The automaker says Toledo is competing with other states but would not give any specifics about the other states.

The $10 million tax credit over 15 years would restore the second shift and help create more than 1,000 new jobs if Chrysler goes through with its proposed $365 million expansion and upgrade.

Washington Local and Toledo Public Schools have already approved tax breaks in hopes of landing Chrysler's new work.
