MAUMEE, OHIO -- Volunteers for Mobile Meals of Toledo were treated to a meal themselves Friday afternoon.

As part of National Volunteer Week, the organization is honoring some of its 700 volunteers.

These folks deliver meals to hundreds of elderly and homebound people in the area five days a week.

"They are great assets-- they're like the heart of our organization and they're compassionate and caring and check in on these clients and making sure they're ok and letting us know if anything doesn't look quite right and just really compassionate people," said Carolyn Fox, Mobile Meals of Toledo Associate Executive Director.

Mobile Meals of Toledo is always looking for more good volunteers.
