PERRYSBURG, OH -- The sun could be shining brightly on Northwest Ohio's economy thanks to First Solar.

The company has plans to build two new plants that would employ 600 workers each. First Solar needs to increase capacity to meet an anticipated demand for its thin-film solar panel technology.

One facility will be built in Vietnam but the other is going to be somewhere in the United States. Ohio has not been ruled out.

First Solar's one and only domestic plant is in Perrysburg and employs more than a thousand people.
