Single digit windchills to stick around
Scattered snow showers, wind and cold a big deal today - serving up some slick spots and bitter cold. More of the same on the way heading into the weekend.
Scattered flurries and snow showers will stick around thoughout the day, as will the cold rushing in on strong winds from the west. The real headline for today will be windchills in the single digits after the record setting highs realized Wednesday. Highs today will max out in the low and mid 20's and with winds gusting out of the west to 45 MPH the feels-like readings will be in the single digits at times. Time to layer yourself up once again!
Overnight we get very cold and the snow flurries/showers and will hang around. Overnight lows bottom out in the lower double digits with windchills dipping below zero just about everywhere at times. Friday will be colder than today with highs in the upper teens and a strong west wind continuing to howl. After some early morning snow flurries we could see some afternoon sunshine - but it will be another raw day.
The weekend remains winter-like as a weak Alberta Clipper slides our way. Widespread, light accumulating snow will fall Saturday and could give us and inch or two with greater amounts towards the south. It will remain chilly with highs in the mid-20's. Sunday will be the pick of the weekend with gradual clearing during the afternoon and highs in the mid and upper 20's.
Get used to more of this as the cold sticks around most of next week.
