NBC News special coverage airing September 11: 

NBC News will air a special broadcast, "America Remembers" to commemorate the tenth anniversary of September 11 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. ET, (5:00-8:00 a.m. PT), pre-empting Meet the Press and Sunday Today.  

Brian Williams will anchor from Ground  Zero along with David Gregory at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.  Tom Brokaw, who anchored coverage of the 9/11 attacks ten years ago, will also join the coverage. Lester Holt will report from inside One World Trade, the tower rising over Ground Zero, and Tamron Hall will report from Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Morning events at Ground Zero: 

The city's memorial will be held at the World Trade Center site. All the names of the victims will be read aloud for the first time at the ceremony to include people who died aboard United Flight 93 and at the Pentagon.  What follows below is what we know so far about events unfolding between 8:00-11:00 a.m. ET at Ground Zero:

• 8:40 a.m. – Program begins. Music, welcome, National Anthem
• 8:46 a.m. – Moment of Silence (Flight 11 into North Tower)
• Tolling of bells
• Readings from the following speakers:  Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former New York Governor George Pataki, Former New Jersey Acting Governor Donald DiFrancesco, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former President George W. Bush, President Obama and members of victim's families. Each reading will last approximately one minute. 
• Reading of names continues between moments of silence
• 9:03 a.m. – Moment of Silence (Flight 175 into South Tower)
• 9:37 a.m. – Moment of Silence (Flight 77 into Pentagon)
• 9:59 a.m. – Moment of Silence (South Tower falls)
• 10:03 a.m. – Moment of Silence (Flight 93 crashes in Shanksville)
• 10:28 a.m. – Moment of silence (North Tower falls)
• TBA – Musical performance

Nightly News: On Friday, September 9 and Sunday, September 11, Brian Williams will anchor special editions of "NBC Nightly News" from Ground Zero. Lester Holt will originate "Weekend Nightly News" from Ground Zero on September 10.

Dateline: On September 9, Dateline airs a two hour special with Tom Brokaw, who spent more than 100 hours at the anchor desk that first week after the attacks. He will take viewers back to some of the most powerful stories reported by NBC News in the days and months following the attacks. In addition, Tom will revisit some of  the people he first spoke to about the tragedy ten years ago.
