LUCAS COUNTY -- According to The Toledo Blade, a Lake Township man fired from his job at the Lucas County Dog Warden has now been re-instated as a county employee.

Last year, Aaron Nova was terminated after surveillance video showed him picking up a dog in a chokehold, slamming it against a kennel door, and throwing it into a kennel at the Lucas County Dog Warden's office.

However, last month, Nova was acquitted of the animal cruelty charge brought against him following the incident.

The Blade says that as part of a grievance settlement, Nova was appointed to fill an open custodian position at the Lucas County Facilities Department.

"His rate of pay will be reduced to $13.11 per hour, compared to the $16.25 he was making when he was dismissed from the pound," The Blade article said.

Do you think Nova should've been re-hired by the county? Does his acquittal mean that he was wrongfully terminated? Sound off below and on our Facebook Fanpage.
