Leo born in Toledo, Ohio and has lived in the area all his life. He enrolled in the Stautzenberger College Personal Fitness Training Program in the fall of 2010, and is now enjoying the excitement of his hard earned final externship quarter.
"At the age of 3 years I started skating and at the age of 4 began playing league hockey. At an early age I understood the benefits of exercise to improve my game and activities in general. My interest in resistance training and martial arts began to develop at the age of 10. My fascination with physical self-improvement began near the time I started participating in organized school sports. With exercise training I quickly realized that my natural abilities were enhanced and I was able to neutralize a once dominating opponent."
"My first set of weights was red bricks tied to a stick and concrete blocks. Then one year for my birthday my parents bought me a plastic weight set and a bench. It was a great surprise. I never ask for the equipment but, I used it regularly. Another great thing happened around the same time in my childhood, my uncle introduced my brothers and me to cycling. Since are family was large we could never afford new bikes. My uncle would bring us old bikes that no one wanted and then he taught us how to repair them. So for birthdays and Christmas we would get tools and bike parts."
"After high school the sports stopped. It felt like I had no reason to train anymore and I became a bit lost. I turned my attention to bike repair, so all the kids in the area always had a bike to ride. I started cycling every day and got up to 100 miles a week. When the kids in the neighborhood rode together it looked like Tour De France, in Northwood, Ohio."
"I doubt if I'll ever stop training. It gives me great relief from the daily stress. I enjoy the complements from friends and family. I get satisfaction from the way I look, when I look in the mirror. I will be able to enjoy my senior years and share them with my grandkids. I’ll never stop exercise training!"
