About Camp Courageous:
More than 40 years ago, Camp Courageous founders Marty Duncan and Ray Defrane wanted their children with special needs to experience "going to overnight camp" like many children without disabilities do. Both founders also realized that a planned week or two at camp would give parents a much-needed rest, or as it is called today, respite.
Since its first year in 1963, Camp Courageous has provided an outdoor recreational experience of a lifetime for children and adults with special needs in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Why you should donate:
The need is greater than ever as Camp Courageous gets closer to its goal of opening the camp year-round. In order for this to happen, Camp Courageous needs funding to build more facilities and expand the cabins they currently have.
As a four season camp, Camp Courageous would be able to give more campers with special needs the opportunity to experience the great outdoors!
