Production Director

WNWO has an opening for a full time Director. Job requires experience with directing newscasts using Ross Over Drive or other automated production system. Other skills needed include the ability to write, shoot and edit commercial and promotional material. Experience using Avid and Adobe editing software, Chyron Duet Lyric Pro, and knowledge of lighting and audio for news and production. Applicant should be able to work with many different departments and be willing to take projects and run with them.

Morning Host/Anchor

WNWO Today, Toledo's Fastest Growing morning show, is seeking a warm, hard-working host for our 2 ½ hour program. The ideal candidate will easily handle live interviews with guests on a wide range of subjects, deliver news segments, co-host the program with our established Meteorologist, and assist in writing the show. You will contribute as part of a team consisting of an Executive Producer, Producer, Meteorologist, two live reporters, an on-line segment producer/anchor, photographer/editor and production staff. We are serious about winning the mornings but we want to have fun with our viewers. We already have a great product. We are now looking for the best Host to build on our success.

Morning Producer

WNWO is seeking a full-time producer for its energetic morning news show, WNWO Today.  We are looking for someone with exceptional writing skills to produce a fast-paced show focused on breaking news and weather.  Our producers must place a strong emphasis on tease writing.  The  ideal candidate will not be a “show stacker” but someone with a creative vision, the ability to see beyond last night’s news and a drive to WIN every day!  Toledo is a very competitive news market, especially when it comes to morning news.  You will have two LIVE reporters every day and will work closely with the Executive Producer to promote the product.  This is NOT a position for a feature-based morning news producer.

Internet Managing Editor 

WNWO is looking for a Web-savvy newshound who can create excellent Web content and teach broadcast journalists how to do the same. We need someone who is both an avid Internet user as well as a total geek about social media.

Impeccable writing, grammar and diction are essential, but so is knowing how to interact with our Web audience in a manner that builds loyalty and grows traffic. As the station’s Internet Managing Editor, you will work with both the news and sales teams to ensure content published on the Web site meets Barrington Broadcasting’s standards for excellence. The IME is also responsible for ensuring that published content is searchable by attaching the correct metadata to the content, including keywords and phrases to help search engines find our content. The IME must be able to use analytic tools in real time to make decisions about what content readers are responding to the most and determine what can be done to update and improve that content to take advantage of reader interest.

Are you an early adopter of new technology and applications? Are you a fanatic social media user? Can you share that enthusiasm with others and show them how to use applications that may be completely foreign to them? Do you thrive on deadline pressure?
